Food for Thought

August 10, 2022 by Kathi Holcomb

I think that my thoughts have too much power. I often wonder why. Our thoughts are so much a part of us, who we are. I agree with the adage that as a man thinks, so is he. If you think about it, what one eats determines how one feels and looks. Food can impact […]

The Option of Forgiveness

October 23, 2025 by Kathi Holcomb

She did it again. She did it with a smile and no apology. She did it as if no one else cared or was impacted. She did it, and it had an impact on me. I felt anger and offense. She needed something, and I offered it to her with a heart of impatience. My […]

The Church and the Vet

February 18, 2025 by Kathi Holcomb

The people who came in were there for a common reason although they all looked different coming from different places and different families. They didn’t know each other. Their commonality was noticeable as they all asked about each other and shared an unspoken understanding of life. Their focus was on each other and how much […]

Jesus Intends to Do Something

October 14, 2024 by Kathi Holcomb

In many life situations, we tend to see only the barriers and the impossibilities that lay before us. Reality can be hard, but it can also be deceiving. In the Gospel of John, we read about Jesus calling His disciples to see the reality before them before He does something that defies that reality. John […]

Does Prayer Even Matter and Does It Even Work?

November 14, 2023 by Kathi Holcomb

The picture in front of me loudly contradicted what my heart had recently prayed for, and my faith took a beating. Honestly, the swiftness of my emotions surprised me as anger quickly rose to the surface, with hurt and sadness hanging on for the ride. I was a mess emotionally and mentally. My thoughts pulled […]

Not Pruning Has Its Consequences

October 6, 2023 by Kathi Holcomb

I am not savvy in growing flowers or vegetables, but I enjoy the plants’ beauty when they produce what I can see, smell, or taste. I love a full and colorful flower bed, but usually, I wouldn’t say I like to prune anything needing pruning. I tend to plant flowers that don’t require de-heading, and […]

It is Certain!

May 11, 2023 by Kathi Holcomb

God did not leave Moses without direction or power when He sent him to carry out an impossible task. God gave Moses instructions and information about what would happen as Moses faced a powerful man in a powerful position. The calling on Moses’ life was not without danger, but God had promised something to Moses […]

Meet Kathi

Hello there! I am so happy you stopped by! Let me introduce myself so you can know me better. My name is Kathi Holcomb and I am the proud wife of Barry Holcomb, grateful mom to Nathan and Abigail, and mom-in-law to my precious daughter in love, Ludmila. Of course, I am also Nana to Claire, my first and only granddaughter.
Barry and I met while completing an internship at Auburn University together and the rest is history. Our friendship remains as we celebrate over 30 years of marriage.

1 Corinthians 2:12-13

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God; so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.”
